Kelsey had her winter Chorus performance last night and let me tell you~ the little people rocked it. Seriously. They opened with "Yo! What's Kwanzaa?" and closed with "The Twelve Days of Christmas". Which I didn't get to tape because it required audience participation and my camera decided not to hold a charge. Audience participation how? They passed out different posters for the different days- the chorus kids kept '5 golden rings' and 'a partridge in a pear tree' the rest went out in the audience and we had to stand and dance when our sections poster popped up. The kids passed out the posters at random and random it was! We were in the '3 French Hens' section and you should have seen the guy in front of us flapping his arms~ the Dad's got very into it and it almost became a competition! I'll leave you with some pictures I did manage to get.
(I did record "Yo! What's Kwanzaa?" But after waiting forever (ok, more like 15 minutes) for it to upload the video I gave up out of frustration)

That's awesome! It sounds like it was so much fun. Those are some of the best memories, Christmas, winter, Hanukah etc. sing-a-longs. I miss that.
We just had our day care's Christmas show last night and we laughed till we cried watching the kids (beginning at age 1) perform. I can just imagine your hens! That's a great idea -- what a neat memory. I love these concerts.
I humbly request that you try again with the "Yo! What's Kwanzaa?" I'd love to see it.
Kelsey, you look BEAUTIFUL! I'm sure you sounded just as pretty as you looked. Hopefully your Mom can get the Kwanza song downloaded as I would also love to see it. Shell, thanks for sharing.
Love,
Julie Connor
