Up Goes The Tree

The Christmas tree went up today and I hope you're sitting down for this one, because you are not going to believe it. Go ahead and get comfy~ I'll wait.

Are you ready?

It went up without issue.
Seriously.
I know, I'm still in shock.

The lights- 1 try. You read that right. O-N-E.

The ornaments- very little no ornament Nazi was to be found.

Pooh didn't smirk at me.

Caydie did try and eat pooh (the bear people, the bear) but it is her first Christmas and he apparently made a sudden move.

It has been fully decorated about 2 hours now and she has only taken 1 more bite from the tree- no wonder the dog has stomach issues!

I would say this is a definite success. So really there is nothing else to blog about. Disappointing, I know. But for the first time in 11 years- I have victory over the Christmas tree!

Unless of course I just jinxed myself and it falls in the middle of the night

No Ornament Nazi to be found:

Kels wants new earrings for Christmas:

If Snoopy can have lights on his doghouse~ So can Caydie!

Merry Christmas!

Hi Shell, Great job decorating and documenting the event! A girl after my own heart. My favorite pic is Colin decorating, and Kels w/the "earrings". Guess that 's two. Does Kels have pierced ears?
Love, Elaine
PS oh and Caydie's decorated crate too.

I could not love Caydance's crate even a teeny bit more! So classic! If only I liked Cooper even just a little bit I'd make his world merry. But I don't. So I won't.

I'd like to hear the kids' version of tree decorating. As in, are the ornaments still in the same arragement tomorrow morning; did you really let them not only touch the ornaments but actually hang them on the tree *or* is that a Photoshop cut-and-paste. I'm only asking ... from one Ornament Nazi to another. Perhaps there is hope for me as well.

Deb you know me too well! I *did* let them hang them (I only gave little suggestions (ie: "Hey Col, instead of 4 blue ornaments on this one branch, how about we spread it out?") And I only moved a few last night after everyone went to bed. That's progess baby!

Shell,
It gets easier with age---you know that "just letting it go" and "it'll be ok". The kids did a FABULOUS job! Love the dog crate!!
