Apparently I was so excited by the organizing of the laundry area and showing you my (still mine- you really can't have it) dream laundry area, I didn't post a 'what's going on with us'.... It's not exciting really so I kind of glazed over it, but was caught.
So here it is in a nutshell- I homeschooled for a year...Oh yes you read that right.. I. Me. Shell. homeschooled a child for a year- and we didn't try and strangle each other. So obviously that child was Colin.
Long story short, we wanted both kids OUT of our home district mainly b/c Kels was going into middle school and I would be damned if she were going to the one we were assigned. Luckily there is a fantastic Charter School nearby and we put in our applications. Kels got lotteried in and Colin got wait-listed. Not a big deal, we know they can only take so many new students, and she was the one we were really more worried about (school location wise). So I tried my hand at homeschooling...How did it go? Well, he got into CIS this past year (for 5th grade) and I am ecstatic to report he is a straight A student...so I didn't break him or dumb him down in the least. It had it's moments of greatness and it's moments of frustration (for both of us), but would I do it again?
In a heartbeat.
The Dog..Ah Caydie....the bane of my existence. The most expensive rescue dog ever. She has (what they think) is epilepsy. There is no other cause for her seizures they can find and are treating her (on not one, but now TWO, daily meds) to control them and it is mostly working, after A LOT of trial and error. She is still eating everything she can get into her mouth- pencils, laundry, trash (what is is about the trash that is SO intriguing to dogs?!) , you name it, she will taste test it.
Kelsey's room, now that she IS a teenager? Well, let's put it this way...I am choosing to pick my battles and sometimes this one is worth fighting, sometimes it's not. Today it's not that bad...it just needs to be picked up....but I do need to ask her why there is a carry on bag on the floor- is she going somewhere?
As you can see the closet that couldn't breathe still can't breathe. This is because once Kels turned 13 she REALLY discovered clothes. And her Mom-Mom, an avid shopper to say the least (if it were an Olympic sport, she would medal in it!) is happy to support her only grand-daughters need for fashion.
Me? I'm here and chugging along. Still trying to figure out where and when (besides new years) I will ever wear these new shoes (the multi colored ones), but aren't they frickin fabulous?
