Have you been having fun? I'm not sure I have- We've been dealing with sick kids, nasty neighbors, that whole lose an hour of sleep time change crap, and a dog that has developed seizures.
On the bright side of things I did start working for Mommysavers.com I have been a member there since Colin was a baby and really it is my home on the internet. Kim (Danger- the founder of Mommysavers) was looking for a Forums Manager, and I have been a moderator on and off there for years- plus, hello? Have you been to the gas station lately~ those gas prices are crazy and Big Bertha requires A LOT of it! I'm getting to do what I love and she has someone who loves what they're doing and is happy to pitch in, and Big Bertha gets fed- it's a win-win-win :)
The kids are doing fantastic- Kelsey is like 7 feet tall now and training for her first 5k Girls on the Run Marathon. Okay so she is 4'11" but really- look at the stems on the this kid~ 7 feet isn't far off!
Colin is forever my Monkey Man. 9 hasn't changed him. He is Mom's little pal, except when Dad is around, then he wants to be a mans man. They get to hang out, watch Top Truck challenge, and eat chips, and belch to their hearts content. Who could ask for more?
The nasty neighbor issue I mentioned above? Well, I've
Their kids however keep accusing my kids of stealing their dog. Rob has talked to the "father" over there. To no avail. I finally had it and told Kelsey the next time they accuse her she can tell them to go ask their dad "what REALLY happened to the dog?" Kels doesn't like confrontation and has never said an unkind word to these little brats. Between the Sheriff's cars there on a monthly basis and finding out they're splitting up and trying to rally the neighborhood to take sides (Mr NY down the street told them we'll all be happy when they BOTH move out of the neighborhood...I do like that man!)
Enough was finally enough with the decrepit yard and trash talking kids so this was our next step:
It's only been a week, but can I tell you~ It is a WORLD of difference back there! We did do the entire yard- not just their side (though I was tempted!)
And I can't believe how much sound it blocks! It's amazing. All that is left is the gate, which has to be built. An awesome guy in our neighborhood did most of the work- Rob helped and even I took my turn at the air nailer~ I did most of that fence in the first picture (didn't I do a great job?!) My only complaint is it makes the yard feel smaller- and it is- we still have 50 more feet of property behind the fence. But we just put it where the old one was b/c there is also a hill and these huge privacy hedges we weren't about to cut down. But you know what? I'll take it- We're loving it!
And last but not least- Caydie. Caydie has been having seizures again. We don't know what is causing them, or why they're happening. Or even what we can do to control them (medication is an option, but not a guarantee). So we're playing it by ear, and just trying to keep fur face happy. Can you tell she has grown on me since she mostly stopped eating things? I say mostly b/c the laundry basket still looks like an all you can eat buffet- especially if there are socks. And don't leave a pencil laying on the table~ anything at her height is fair game and she really has a taste for graphite these days!
On the bright side- I haven't gone crazy yet, but give me some time- it's only March!

Hey Shell...Prince was awesome! I so get it, and he still gots it:)
Your neighbor is a whack job, and you betcha I would have said something too. My boys would have freaked if they ever see someone harm an animal. Have a great weekend.
Wow!! Another wonderful blog update...you are truly entertaining. Your children are beautiful as always. The fence looks great and I hope the seizures soon stop. Love reading your blog.
Hugs,
Julie Connor
1) Holy crap, that's a lot of stuff.
b) So cool to be doing what you love when you get paid. Most of the ones I can think of are illegal, so I say Nicely done!
iii) Your kids really are so darn cute, and you do realize the difficulty Rob's going to be having in a couple years, right, when the boys are all googly-eyed for Miss Kelsey?
four) Stupid neighbors. I've mentioned by police-callin, poop-throwin wacko neighbors before, so I get it. Lucky they planted a copse of trees between their house and ours so we rarely have to see them. Can you make Mommy Juice from her peace offering? ;-)
V) Poor Caydie. :(
