School Days...School Days

School days, school days,
Dear old golden rule days.

They're here! School days that is. Kelsey and Colin are officially back in school. Kels was genuinely excited to go and Colin...well, Colin put on his happy face for Mama (by the time we got into the school, he was excited, just for the record).

As many of you know My mom LIVES for her Grandbabies. Kelsey and Colin are the light of her life (Sorry Dad). She has never missed a first day of school. Until this year. She isn't here for it. She's home. 222 miles away. Well she feels bad about it (worse than bad), so of course I need to give her a hard time about it. What kind of daughter would I be if I didn't lay on a smattering of guilt? Last night she told me to take lots of pictures. I told her no. Then I told her I'd take them but only send them to Dad. :)

So this AM the kids and I took this one for her:

Don't say I'm mean...you thought it was amusing too. I did send her the rest of them. And for your viewing pleasure, may I present:

Kelsey~ An official 4th grader:

And Colin~ An official 2nd grader:

Yes, that is our porch light on because yes, we were out there before the sun was.

Happy First Day of School!

Great pictures. And, for real, you're out before the sun. What time does school start in your parts?

Wow. Mason goes 9-3:15. I never knew elementary schools started that early. What about high school?

6-8th grade they will be 8:45-3:45 unless we move (or they change the bell schedule again), and HS goes back to 7:15-2:15, but they will be getting themselves up by then :) Interesting hours aren't they?
