Spot Festival 2008

This past weekend we went to the Annual NC Spot Festival. Yes...Spot as in the Spot Fish (Bet you thought I was going to say dog). NC has some weird celebrations...They celebrate this fish basically by frying him up and serving him next to coleslaw and corn bread. This festival isn't to be confused with NC Annual Azalea Festival or NC Annual Hummingbird Festival (It's real I swear...look it up!).

Scott and Mair went with us and it was a great family night.
This year Kelsey decided she was going to try (and conquer ) the Rock Climbing wall. Well when Miss Thing puts her mind to something stand back...

Colin was way more into the Kids Bungee jump...you know get hooked up to a harness then bounce your little heart out...but don't miss the inflatable raft like thing under you as you bounce...

Among the many inflatable rides there were 2 that were quite funny...The Ark was one, it had an inflatable rock wall...doesn't sound so difficult right? Not according to Colin...Kels gave him a hand (they're going to work so well together when they're teens and trying to sneak out of the house!)

The other was, well...I can only describe it...it was like a giant human slingshot. The kids get harnessed to this inflatable "Wall" with a bungee cord attached to it. Then they take off at full speed trying to get to the end...they only get so far and the slingshot takes over and Bam..Kids on their butts, Moms hysterical laughing...I got pics of them at the beginning, but was too busy laughing when they got pulled back...you'll have to use your imaginations

Mom-Mom spoiled her babies rotten and I don't think they heard the word "No" once. Train whistles, face painting and light sabers galore...

So as you can see...a good time was had by all...well ALL except the Spot Fish :)
