Calgon take me away

A few weeks ago, I told you Kelsey had the flu. Well it has since morphed into a sinus infection and pneumonia. Great right? Sorry, I speak in sarcasm.

She felt great the week of Jan 24, I know this b/c we went to the circus Jan 27 and she was fine (we'll talk about those damn clowns (real clowns, red noses, big floppy shoes, the works) later.

But really she was fine. Then Monday Feb 1 was a snow day for schools. We got almost 3 inches for the record. But it was enough to throw everyone into a run-and-buy- every-last-loaf-of-bread-and-gallon-of-milk-you-can-get-your-hands-on-frenzy. But this is the day Kelsey decides (as if she actually had a choice, I know),to run an almost 104 degree temp. I got her into the Drs office (I'm a Jersey girl, I'm not afraid to drive in the snow in 4 wheel drive). Where the nice Dr proceeds to tell me Kels has one heck of a sinus infection and possibly the start of pneumonia. No chest X-ray now b/c she will perscribe the same meds either way. Fine. Call us back if her fever doesn't go down in 72 hours.

72 hours later we are back in the Drs office b/c even though Baby Girl's fever did go down, it only went down to 101. Chest X-ray here we come. Yes, indeedy the Drs prognosis of pneumonia is spot on. Keep doing what we're doing here are 2 additional medications she needs to take.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, I somehow(translation:downloading music) downloaded a virus. GREAT. Rob takes it to Geek Squad where "Sheldon" (Not his real name but he looked so much like Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory):

That this is what he kept calling him. First he thought I blew the motherboard or hard drive (for the record, static and a USB drive DO NOT MIX), but luck be a lady, this was not the case. It was a virus. And one that was sitting in my music file SINCE SUMMER (I know because it was from the Mamma Mia! soundtrack and that was right after I watched the movie. But before I bought the CD soundtrack. Don't Judge me). Thanks a whole freaking lot Norton. A Lot of good you did. Sheldon ran a Kaspersky virus scan and it picked up not one, but 5 different viruses. I made Rob buy the same virus scan for us to use @ home on both my laptop and the kids computer, and uninstalled the worthless Norton anti-virus. It is an excellent investment in my opinion (If you could have seen me for just 5 days with no interent, you'd agree).

Kelsey appears to be on the mend, Colin is, well....Colin. He informed us this week that American Girl dolls were "A Rip off". After Kelsey announcing the price of this years new doll (found in the new catalog), Colin leaned over to me and whispered, "What a rip-off!". I agree son. I agree.

Oh and he got 2 girls phone numbers this week and told his teacher she should wear an undershirt under her sweatshirt. Yeah that conversation made Kelsey snort with laughter and a "Mom, you should have seen the look on your face!" Apparently Colin's teacher mentioned in class she was cold and asked the students if they were and Colin told her no because he wears undershirts. She should too.

Yes I am babbling, and I know I am babbling. I'd apologize for the babbling but you see, I am running on very little sleep for the past week and just don't have the energy to care that I am babbling, besides, those of you who read this get me anyway. I love you guys.

Gotcha!

What a stinky time you've had. Man, Kelsey, that's some scary stuff. Colin, that's some funny stuff. And viruses, grrrrrrr. I also pay a crazy amount of money to iTunes because 1) I think they make you wear bras in jail and 2) viruses stink. Really stink.

Go get some sleep!

Kelsey, I hope you get to feeling 100% really soon. Colin, I so agree with your American Girl philosophy! Oh, Shell! First of all stay away from the viruses and secondly, we got 10 inches of snow up my way--YAY!!!
Love ya,
Julie
