Updates...

(Not a very original title I know, but my creativity is apparently still on Spring Break)

Anywho, blogging slacker I am, I know I haven't updated in awhile. Listen it was hard enough for me to embrace this blogging bandwagon (Jess remembers- it took me 6 months to post something after finally creating a blog)....My life just isn't that interesting. But I did think of some things to share~ read on!

Spring Break took place last week...Both for the kids and Mommy, but not so much for my Dad. My parents took the kids for their Spring Break so they could spend some quality time with them and I could get my kitchen painted.

At the beginning of the week Kelsey had asked me for a guitar. Um...no. I don't think so and I thought the conversation was finished. Here is the phone call I received on Wed, I think:

Kels: Mom, how firm were you on the no about the guitar?
Me: Pretty firm Kels.
Kels: oh (then I heard what sounded suspiciously like my Dad snickering) well, Mom Mom bought me one.
Me: DID she now. Can I talk to her?
Kels:No, but listen, I can play it pretty good.
Me:Really? That's GREAT, can I talk to her now.

Do you know the child STILL wouldn't put me on the phone with my Mom for another 5 minutes which she spent trying to convince me why the guitar was a good idea? Note: I'm still not convinced.

Thursday Mom-Mom (my Mom) took Kelsey for a pedicure and manicure. She came home to inform Pop-Pop (my Dad) she "really should visit more often".

Friday Kelsey got her hair cut. She had decided enough was enough with the knots and detangling and Mommy threatening to cut it off herself every morning when she forgot to braid it before bed. Girlfriend wasn't messing around when she said she wanted it short. She got 10 inches cut off for a Locks of Love Donation. This will be her 2nd donation to Locks of Love and Rob and I couldn't be prouder. What made Rob shed a tear? She doesn't look 9 years old anymore:

Colin being the most laid back, go with the flow kid ever created just went along for the ride. He got his hair cut, and it's no big deal (He will NOT let me spike it up in front so he must keep it very short to keep Mommy and hair gel away), and he just soaked up the attention paid to him by Mom Mom and Pop Pop....Hence my Dad's need for a vacation from the grandkids vacation :)

Caydance got spayed and had an extra du-claw removed on Thursday. I went to pick her up and was kind of excited because the vet said she'd probably be a little groggy and out of it. Yay, an early quiet night for us! HA! Here come all the other little doggies getting picked up...mostly groggy, some looking downright drunk, and a few not even looking at their owners. And there was Caydance.
Positively bouncing to get out the door and get to me "Hi Mommy! Hi Mommy! Woo-Hoo! Look at me! See me! Hi Mommy!" (this is what I imagine she was thinking anyway- just go with it). She had her "Collar" on, but really, it looked more like a lampshade:

or a Bonnet depending on the angle:

And finally the kitchen...Ah the poor kitchen which must think I hate it as it is the room that I keep feeling the need to "re-do". But it is only because I love you so much kitchen. You are the heart of our home and I want you to be perfect. We'll talk about your counter tops later.
This was what we finally completed this week~ Rob replaced the sink faucet. As much as I love the new sink, the faucet left much to be desired as I couldn't fill a darn pot without spilling it all over the place under the faucet, so we replaced it with a high arc one~ LOVE IT. I have wanted new cabinet handles for years now, but after pricing them out,I decided I'm creative enough and we know I already know how to wield a can of spray paint, so I "upgraded" them myself to an antique-y brown:

and repainted the kitchen (again), and the color will remain this time...I'm finally happy with it....I think (click on the pic and you can see the pretty new faucet too):

And finally~ Easter was wonderful but I'm not sure if the Easter Beagle enjoyed it as much as we did:

WOW KELSEY!! You did good--no, not the guitar (but hey, you deserve kudos for pulling that off), but the Locks of Love--how wonderful!! Colin, hair gel is not that bad. My little Matt gets a daily slathering whether he wants it or not!;)

You know how I feel about your kitchen, but I'll say it again--it looks GREAT!! Shell, only you could come up with the bunny ears. I love it!! Enjoyed your "update".
Love,
Julie

I DOOOOO!! remember!! What a grown up little girl you have! Wow, it's amazing how big of a change just a haircut will have! She's beautiful!

My boys love when I spike their hair. They come RUNNING when I get in the bathroom to do my hair and they hear the blow dryer because they know what's next! lol, how funny they are!
